Woman seriously injured in car vs pedestrian accident in Tiffin

A 60-year-old woman has been struck and injured by a teenage driver in Tiffin. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the woman was crossing Jackson Street on foot near Deer View Avenue just after 8am Monday when she was struck by a westbound 2005 Ford Taurus being driven by a 17-year-old male. The woman was transported to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics with life-threatening injuries. The driver was uninjured. The names of those involved are being withheld due to the ongoing investigation.

Warrant issued for alleged chronic UIHC masturbator after skipping third hearing

5/22/21 An arrest warrant has been issued for the third time in less than a year for an alleged chronic masturbator accused of skipping three different court hearings. 27-year-old Chad Fairchild of Davenport allegedly also skipped an earlier hearing last January. Online records show a warrant was served and he was taken into custody on May 13 th. A new case management conference was set for Monday, which Fairchild also allegedly skipped. A warrant was immediately issued for his arrest, and he remains at large. Court records show Fairchild also skipped a case management conference on July 27th of last year. He was taken into custody last August, leading to last January’s rescheduled court date.

Motorcyclist Dies Weeks After Crash

A Peosta man – who was severely hurt in a motorcycle crash – has died more than two weeks after the crash. According to reports, 22-year-old John Fagerlind passed away Saturday at University of Iowa Hospital. He was involved in a single-vehicle crash the evening of May 1st just south of Holy Cross. He was air-lifted to the Iowa City hospital – where he had remained until his passing over the weekend.
