I traveled to the University of Iowa Hospital for my monthly meeting with my oncologist and digestive health medical team. For those of you unaware, I’m fighting stage 4 stomach cancer. It was to be a quick in-and-out meeting and I would be on my way home by 3 p.m. Instead, my digestive health professional looked at me for thirty seconds and said, “I’m admitting you.” I didn’t know what to say. “Wait,” was the only thing I could force out.
