SUVA, Fiji (Wansolwara, June 2007) - Pacific Island nations are lagging in all forms of information technology hardware, software, expertise and accessibility to appropriate equipment and technology, says former regional accounts manager for Telecom, Adi Lusiana Seniloli. If Pacific Island nations are to compete successfully in the international arena, and if we are to develop, then we need to create access to opportunities by making equipment easily available at affordable prices, she says.
Seniloli added that equipment without expertise was useless, hence the need for more specialised computer experts and computer teachers in schools.
