A LOGISTICS company will be helping to fund a drive to plant half a million trees across Lancashire This comes as Chorley-based TVS Supply Chain Services partners with the Ribble Rivers Trust on a project known as Lancashire Woodland Connect. The campaign aims to plant 500,000 trees in the county over the next decade. Comapany CEO Andrew Jones said: “TVS SCS were pleased to be supporting Ribble Rivers Trust by planting trees at Crow Wood in Burnley as part of the Trust’s initiative in woodland creation to tackle carbon emissions and support a healthier environment. A TRUST dedicated to protecting the environment on and around the River Ribble has been boosted by a new corporate sponsor. The Ribble Rivers Trust, based in Clitheroe, are currently in the process of involving more local businesses in its plans to protect the county s environment, with a range of projects under considerations. Pearson Web Services, run by husband and wife team Steven Pearson and Zoe Hannan, have been one of the first such businesses to join forces with the trust, becoming a corporate sponsor and taking part in a tree planting day. Strategy director Zoe Hannan said: “When we set up this web services business, we did so with the desire to be environmentally responsible and therefore committed to regularly offsetting the carbon footprint produced by our website and workforce from the outset.
