HOOVER, Ala. (AP) Chaney Rogers cleared the bases with a double in the first inning and No. 8 seed Georgia beat ninth-seeded LSU 4-1 on Tuesday in the first round of the SEC Tournament.
Georgia (31-23) advances to play top-seeded Arkansas on Wednesday. LSU (34-22) awaits the Monday reveal of the NCAA Tournament teams.
Rogers went 2 for 3 to extend his hitting streak to a career-best 11 games. Cole Tate added three hits, and Be Anderson and Corey Collins each had two.
Georgia starter Luke Wagner allowed four hits and one run while striking out four in 3 1/3 innings. Freshman Jaden Woods (4-1) struck out five in 3 2/3 innings and Jack Gowen picked up his first save.

Following a 1.5 hour rain delay, the No. 1 Arkansas Razorbacks took game one of their series at home versus the Georgia Bulldogs by outlasting them 3-0 on Friday night. Patrick Wicklander put in another solid performance for the Hogs by pitching for 5.2 scoreless innings with nine strikeouts, and Kevin Kopps came in for the final three innings once again to seal the victory.
While Liam Sullivan for Georgia would keep the Bulldogs within a run through the first seven innings in a fantastic starting debut, Arkansas would get just enough through Casey Opitz and Robert Moore who had the only RBIs of the game.
DECATUR The seventh-ranked Georgia Bulldogs defeated Georgia State 6-2 Wednesday at the GSU Baseball Complex.
The Bulldogs (4-1) ran their winning streak to four behind a combined two-hitter while getting home runs from freshman Corey Collins and graduate Riley King. Redshirt junior Darryn Pasqua (1-0) picked up the win with a dominating relief outing, retiring all 12 batters he faced with five strikeouts. He came on for Ben Harris who started and went three innings. Nolan Crisp pitched the eighth and Jack Gowen took care of the ninth.
The Panthers (2-3) had one hit through seven innings. Georgia took a 2-0 lead in the first when Collins smashed his second home run of the year, a two-run shot. A wild pitch allowed Cole Tate to score for a 3-0 lead in the third. The Panthers made it 3-1 in their half of the third, pushing across a run on a safety squeeze bunt by Kalen Puckett.
