The league took in $5.9 billion a year in its current contracts. It will get $113 billion over the 11 seasons of the new deals that begin in 2023, an increase of 80% over the previous such period. Amazon has partnered with the league to stream Thursday night games since 2017, but it will take over the entire package from Fox, which has had it since 2018. Games will continue to air on CBS, Fox, NBC and ESPN, while ABC will have a limited schedule of games as well as returning to the Super Bowl rotation for the first time since the 2005 season. Above, CBS, with lead anchors Tony Romo (l) and Jim Nantz, will continue to carry its traditional package of games.

Sussex Police were called shortly after 9.30am after callers reported concerns for a man who was carrying a knife. The force arrived at the scene and challenged the man, who allegedly attempted to stab one of the officers in the chest.

A solicitor has been charged with attempted murder after a police officer was injured in Sussex. Police were called to an address in Crawley last Thursday following concerns for a man in possession of a knife.
The man was detained, during which time an officer suffered a minor laceration to his hand, a statement said. The officer was taken to hospital for treatment.
Jack Chao, 37, a solicitor from Crawley, was charged with attempted murder on Friday and was due to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court the following day.

A man charged with the attempted murder of a police officer in Crawley has been further remanded in custody.

Officers were called to West Green Drive around 9.35am on Thursday December 17 following concerns for a man in possession of a knife, said police.
When challenged by police, the suspect allegedly attempted to stab an officer – who was wearing a protective vest – in the chest, before he was safely detained.
A spokesman added: “During this time, the same officer suffered a minor laceration to his hand and was treated at the scene.
