Editor: As a member of the Board of the Wilkes-Barre Area School District, I am honored to serve the tens of thousands students and stakeholders in our district.
Every year we fall short in receiving the tens of millions of dollars set forth in the fund formula set by the Department of Education.
This practice is not only unfair, it reflects on the education, health and well being of our students, educators, employees and communities, mostly in our poorer and financially underfunded school districts.
For four generations, my family attended and graduated from public schools in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District.
