Multiple Grade 1 winner Knicks Go had been targeting the May 31 Steve Sexton Mile at Lone Star Park for his first start back after finishing fourth in the Saudi Cup in February, but the 5-year-old son of Paynter has been re-routed to the Grade 1 Met Mile on June 5 at Belmont Park.
Trainer Brad Cox told the
Daily Racing Form the reason behind the change is that Charlatan, second-place finisher in the Saudi Cup, will not appear in the Met Mile entry box. The Bob Baffert-trained colt was taken out of training for an unspecified issue earlier this month, and his trainer is currently banned from entering horses at NYRA racetracks.

Multiple Grade 2 winner Sharp Samurai has been retired from racing, and he will take up residence at Old Friends Equine Retirement in Georgetown, Ky., BloodHorse reports.
The 7-year-old First Samurai gelding finished his on-track career with earnings of $1,111,270, winning eight of 23 starts. A west-coast mainstay, his most notable triumphs came in the Grade 2 Del Mar Derby, Twilight Derby, and City of Hope Mile Stakes, as well as the G3 La Jolla Handicap.

Multiple Grade 1 winner Got Stormy is being pointed to the $125,000 Honey Fox (Grade 3) Feb. 27 at Gulfstream Park after breezing extremely well at trainer Mark Casse s training center in Ocala Wednesday morning.
The 6-year-old daughter of Get Stormy breezed a half-mile in 48.40 seconds while tuning up for her scheduled 2021 debut in the mile turf stakes on the Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth (G2) undercard.
“I m going to move her to Palm Meadows soon so she can start breezing over the turf,” Casse said.
