Interpreter Training Scholarship Program open for 2021

Jeremy Rockliff,Minister for Community Services and Development The Tasmanian Liberal Government is committed to making sure that all people feel welcome, and we are delivering on our commitment by expanding opportunities for those wishing to accredit as interpreters. Interpreters play an essential part in delivering government services to people who require language assistance, and our Tasmanian Interpreter Training Scholarship Program is designed to increase the supply and quality of credentialed interpreters, particularly in languages in demand. Jointly funded with the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters, the scholarships valued at $1000 each will help local interpreters and bi-cultural workers enrol in an online training program through RMIT University.

VIC Premier The Victorian Government is making sure no Victorian is left behind, providing a dedicated boost to hardship payments and emergency food relief for our state’s most vulnerable. The Government today announced an additional $30 million package to ensure this critical help – including food and financial support – is made available to communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. More support will be delivered to Victorians struggling to put a meal on the table with a $4.5 million boost to expand the capacity of community food relief organisations – building on the more than $31 million of additional relief delivered since February 2020. Abu Dhabi Festival launches UAE Theatre Circle ABU DHABI, 4 days ago Abu Dhabi Festival has launched its annual UAE Theatre Circle, hosting a series of Arabic interactive panels and discussions led by international theatre leaders and staging three plays in Arabic and English. The event, launched in collaboration with playwright and director Karim Rashid, is part of Abu Dhabi Festival’s strategy and vision to nurture the next generation of emerging theatre makers and equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop the national theatre sector. The in-depth talks and workshops will be held online until April 8. The UAE Theatre Circle will also stage three plays from April to November in partnership with The Junction.
