Officers from the National Police and Customs Surveillance officials of the Tax Agency, in collaboration with the National Crime Agency, have dismantled a criminal organisation led by a historic British drug trafficker and have intervened more than a ton and a half of hashish. The investigation has been coordinated by the Campo de Gibraltar Anti-Drug Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation began last year and focused on a British citizen, resident in a luxurious urbanisation in Cádiz, who was engaged in the transport of hashish by sea. This man, a former member of the British Royal Navy with extensive nautical knowledge, was known for years by the agents given his close relationship with international drug trafficking and his links with criminal organisations based in European countries such as the United Kingdom and Ukraine, territories likely to be the receptors of the narcotic substance.

Police ran roughshod over road commuters at several places across the State on Saturday in the aftermath of strict instructions issued by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to enforce lockdown from 10 a.m.
What was limited to imposing fines on travelling public beyond 10 a.m. till Friday suddenly escalated to a higher level of punishment as the police wielded lathis and seized their vehicles. The people were taken by surprise and entered into arguments with the police at several places resulting in mild tension.
KAJANG (Bernama): A cigarette smuggling syndicate’s secret warehouse at a double-storey terrace house for several years was finally uncovered with the arrest of two men in separate raids in Kajang and Semenyih on Thursday (May 20).
Bukit Aman Department of Internal Security and Public Order (KDNKA) acting director Datuk Azri Ahmad said in the 1pm and 11pm raids, 13,462 cartons of cigarettes of various brands worth about RM1.33mil with unpaid tax value of RM1.69mil were seized.
He said, the raid carried out by the 4th Battalion of the Semenyih General Operations Force, Selangor also seized two vehicles and three mobile phones with the total value of the seizure estimated at RM3,091,322mil.
