DISASTER recovery office sites look set to become a thing of the past for banks and other major institutions in the new flexible home working era.
The back-up offices are a little known feature of the business world, kept to house staff to ensure continuity of work in the case of an emergency or other disaster.
But with employers now officially adopting home working practices, the sites are being deemed redundant.
Ulster Bank has been confirmed as one of the first major employers in Belfast to relinquish its disaster recovery site.
