Imago welcomes new university facilities

LOUGHBOROUGH, England – Imago, one of the UK’s academic venues, has welcomed the opening of Loughborough University’s latest facilities. Imago already provides event organisers with access to one of the UK’s largest and most extensive single conference sites through the facilities available on campus. The 410-acre campus features more than 75 state-of-the-art exhibition, meeting and conference rooms for up to 2,000 delegates, in addition to facilities Burleigh Court, Holywell Park and The Link Hotel. The opening of the new £3 million teaching space – The West Park Teaching Hub – will see Its campus offering extended even further. The West Park Teaching Hub – located in the former Ford College building – features five lecture theatres, two seminar rooms and a central learning and exhibition zone and is equipped with the latest audio visual equipment. Alongside the formal teaching space there is an informal learning area and waiting areas with seating and a café.

Dean Dickens Dickens has been spared jail after was found with indecent images of children in a hidden folder on his phone. The 43-year-old of Lorrimore Close, Billericay had been having conversations with online profiles in the lead up to the police raid being carried out on his home on August 18 last year. Basildon Crown Court heard that one of the users was an undercover officer, who raised the alarm.

A MAN who tried to illegally import knuckleduster knives from China to Southend to give to his dad “as an ornament” has been jailed. Harry Lee claimed he did not know it was illegal to import weapons such as knuckledusters to the UK, despite sending the weapons to a Southend address that was not his own. The 25-year-old of Percy Cottis Road, Rochford, sent the package to a property in Burleigh Court, Southend, which was intercepted in September last year. Basildon Crown Court heard that a UK Border Force officer based at the Royal Mail investigations and logistics centre in Berkshire had found the suspicious package on September 1.

Kay England steps down as Imago CEO, replacement confirmed

England took over as CEO in 2002, after joining it in 1991 when it started as Loughborough University s Short Course Centre, trading as Burleigh Court. During her tenure, she oversaw the expansion from a 100-bedroom conference centre to the multi-million-pound venue portfolio they are today. She will now be focusing on new areas of personal development and spending more time with her family. Imago has confirmed that Spencer Graydon will replace England as CEO. “A key factor that drew me to Imago is its strong people culture, evidenced by the numerous industry awards it has gained, along with the widely recognised Investors In People Platinum Award,” said Graydon.
