Burlington School District partners with Eagle View Community Health System to launch school-based clinic at BHS
The clinic, set to open in time for summer school, will be available to all Burlington students as well as members of their households.

Burlington, Ia- Starting in the summer, Burlington High School will be operating a school-based clinic. The Hawk Eye reports that Eagle View Community Health Systems, based in Henderson County, Illinois, will be partnering with the Burlington Community School District to operate the clinic at the high school. According to a plan approved by the Burlington School Board, Henderson County Rural Health Center will provide health services to Burlington students and members of their family, regardless of grade or income.
Vermont city opts for new high school due to contamination

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) The Burlington School Board has decided to pursue building a new high school due to chemical contamination found in the existing school.
The school board in Vermont’s largest city voted unanimously Tuesday to end efforts to remediate the existing building and instead construct a new school though the location has not yet been determined, WCAX-TV reported.
The contamination prompted school officials to close the school last year. Initially, students were educated from home. In March, the school moved into an empty Macy’s department store, which is now known as the Downtown Burlington High School.

Next year s spring break became a point of contention for Burlington School Board members Monday ahead of their approval of the district s 2021-22 school calendar.
The calendar, which was approved by a 6-1 vote, sets next year s spring break for April 12-18, two week later than this year s spring break, which ran from March 31 to April 2.
Board president Joel Sieren, who last year advocated for a weeklong spring break, argued that it should be scheduled for earlier in the year. I just remember this year, in talking anecdotally with staff, with students, they were very burned out, couldn t wait for spring break, and on this calendar, spring break would be a week later than it was this year, Sieren said, adding that he felt a late spring break would make the remainder of the year difficult for seniors to concentrate as they would return with only four-and-a-half weeks left before their last day.
