To better understand the $52 million bond proposal on the May ballot, Burnet school district voters should look east down Texas 29.
Liberty Hill Independent School District is facing rapid growth and putting a $490 million bond proposal before its own voters in May.
“They’re expecting to double in size as a school district by 2025, and every indication is that growth is going to spill over into Burnet (Consolidated Independent School District) and first going to be at Bertram Elementary,” said BCISD Superintendent Keith McBurnett during his recent State of the District address.

Reports of coronavirus cases in Tampa Bay area schools continue to level downward as the school year progresses.
To date, there have been more than 10,000 cases in Hillsborough, Hernando, Pasco and Pinellas counties. But each week there seems to be a slight improvement.
Here is where the hot spots were this week. We list only with the largest number of cases, but all are reflected on the map below:

The Burnet Consolidated Independent School District has named Jennifer Stewart interim principal at Burnet Middle School.
Stewart will take over the role Jan. 5. Students return to campus Jan. 6 from Christmas break.
She steps in after the passing of Principal Jeremy LeJeune, who died Dec. 6.
