The size of the hamster was a challenge for 54-year-old veterinary surgeon Ann Reid. Vets perform surgery on tiny hamster with broken leg
It was a kind of surgery that you have probably never seen or heard of. It involved a tiny animal the outcome is impressive, to say the least.
Skilled vets performed surgery on a hamster with a broken leg and gave the tiny rodent a cast made from cotton wool.
Vets at the Veterinary Health Centre in St. Annes, Lancs responded after the rodent was seen dragging its leg by its owner. After a quick check, one of them found that Suki had broken a tibia and would require surgery.
