The push to get bullet-resistant windshields for law enforcement was sparked by the death of Trooper Chad Walker. The non-profit MAG, Inc. that started the movement is now holding a fundraiser June 25th through the 27th that has the potential to save law enforcement lives.
Small town roots run deep in Groesbeck, Texas and so does the wound from Trooper Walker s death. When this happened it definitely rocked our community, said MAG, Inc Organizer Bryce Worsham.
Trooper Walker received a hero s service after being ambushed by a gunman. The bullets that killed him pierced the patrol car windshield first.

MEXIA, TX â The feeling of losing one of their own in the line of duty is one folks in Limestone County are unfortunately familiar with.
The community lost Damon Allen in 2017 and now Trooper Chad Walker.
It s why Michelle Busby is doing all she can to help keep those keeping her safe, alive.
âThey go out every day to protect us,â Busby said. âThe least we can do is try to help keep them safe while they re doing that.â
She owns Blackcat Couture and after hearing about Walkerâs death, she got to work designing and selling tee shirts.

GROESBECK, TX â The Groesbeck community is still trying to come to terms with what happened to DPS Trooper Chad Walker, who was shot multiple times in the line of duty and later died.
One local nonprofit is working to protect law enforcement while on the job.
The Mutual Assistance Group, or MAG Inc., is built on helping first responders as well as military and veteran members in Limestone County, even assisting those in the area who have fallen on hard times.
