Seton Hall was cruising along to what looked like their most impressive win of the season, and then the wheels fell off.
The Pirates blew a 16-point lead with 11 and a half minutes remaining Wednesday night and lost to No. 17 Creighton, 85-81, at Prudential Center. The Bluejays closed the game on a 14-2 run and outscored Seton Hall 41-27 in the second half after the Pirates led by 10 at the break. The Big East announced that Saturday’s Xavier-Seton Hall game set for Walsh Gym has been postponed “due to COVID-related issues within the Xavier program.”
The next game for Seton Hall (9-5, 6-2 Big East) will be Tuesday’s game at No. 3 Villanova, which on Thursday practiced for the first time after coming out of its third COVID-related pause. Villanova (8-1, 3-0) hasn’t played since Dec. 23 at Marquette.
