The body of 29-year-old Ashley Cerasole was found Friday near Fox Mill Run, according to the Gloucester Sheriff’s Office. Cerasole was a resident of Cary Adult Home and had been reported as a missing person on Dec. 3, 2020.
The GSO said Friday that Cerasole was located at about 11:30 a.m. by a Virginia State Police Dive Team and VSP investigators working in conjunction with the GSO and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.
The body was found in a swamp area on the back side of the Fox Mill subdivision, according to the GSO, and was positively identified as Cerasole on Saturday by the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Va. The Chief Medical Examiner s Office in Norfolk has determined that a two-year-old girl was murdered after she was found unresponsive in the care of a daycare provider last year.
On August 18, 2020, police were sent to the 1300 block of Jennifer Street after learning about a child who was unresponsive at a home on that block.
First responders found a two-year-old girl inside the home and rushed her to the Children s Hospital of the King s Daughters. She died at the hospital.

GLOUCESTER Co., Va. - A body was found in a swamp area in Gloucester County on Friday.
Around 11:30 a.m., officials found the body of what is believed to be a female on the back side of the Fox Mill Subdivision.
Officials said an investigation is underway with the Chief Medical Examinerâs Office in Norfolk to identify the person and to rule the cause of death.
There is no further information at this time.
