Mighty Wanderers Football Club 2021 Limited has made some changes in how it will be operating its football club following their first Board Meeting, which was conducted last Friday at Ryalls Hotel in Blantyre.
The board met to map up a direction of the company and put in place tangible strategies to run the club as a professional business entity.

In a press statement signed by the Clubs President, Dr. Thom Mpinganjira many resolutions were made.
For instance, The Board Chair, Dr. Thom Mpinganjira will be responsible for providing direction to the new company including making pronouncements on key policy issues.

Minister of Civic Education and National Unity Timothy Mtambo and Members of Parliament Susan Dossi and Ulemu Chilapondwa have been incorporated into the Board of Mighty Wanderers Football Club, a few days after registering as a company.
Dossi is an MP for Chikwawa West in the Southern Region while Chilapondwa is law maker for Ntchisi South in the central region.
The Board of Directors, led by the club’s President Thom Mpinganjira, held their first meeting on 23rd July 2021 in Blantyre where they discussed a number of issues aimed at advancing the team’s commercialization drive.

Thomas Mpinganjira was on Thursday officially unveiled as president of Wanderers Football Club 2021 Limited and he hit the ground running by presiding over the company’s first full Board meeting on Friday.

At a press conference held at his residence in Nyambadwe, Blantyre, Mpinganjira one of the country’s most successful businessmen said the football team will be a subsidiary of other money-making business ventures the company is eyeing to pursue.
He said the company is set to rope in multiple sponsors and not just be branded by a particular corporate sponsor as was the case in the past when the team trended as Yamaha Wanderers to MTL to Be Forward.

Newly promoted TNM Super League side, Ekwendeni Hammers, will now be called Azit Hamers and has changed its goal from simply getting established in the league to competing for the title.

This is coming after the club went into partnership with Agri Zone International Trading (AZIT) Limited, a company that will be bankrolling it for the next five years.
Hammers will be getting over K40 million a year as agreed in the deal. The team intends to change its name to encompass that of the sponsor but with guidance from the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) and the Super League of Malawi (SULOM).
