Calgary s homeless population will soon have faster access to mental health support thanks to three social agencies teaming up to launch a real time counselling service.

Calgary agencies are reimagining the delivery of mental-health supports for homeless people with a pilot project dedicated to providing the “right service at the right time.”
The Rapid Care Counselling program being launched by the Calgary Homeless Foundation, CUPS Calgary and Catholic Family Service (CFS) later this month will connect participants to a counsellor within three business days.

Patricia Jones, CEO of the Calgary Homeless Foundation, said the pilot will help address some of the root issues that contribute to homelessness, and serve as a gateway to finding and maintaining housing.
Therapy Services from Pella Regional Health Center are now available in Prairie City, which includes physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy at 404 South Commerce Drive.
The goal of the programs are to develop comprehensive treatment programs that relieve pain, restore mobility, increase strength and improve function.
Before designing a treatment program for patients, staff completes a thorough evaluation to accurately assess each patient’s condition. Once this is completed, a therapist works with the patient to develop a treatment plan and set individual goals.
