Two people are dead and at least 27 others have been wounded in shootings across the city of Chicago during the Memorial Day weekend. The first fatal shooting of the weekend was reported at approximately 2:14 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the 3100 block of West Ogden Avenue. According to Chicago police, a 26-year-old man was driving eastbound on the roadway.

Street lighting, which is to provide illumination in the night, is increasingly becoming a decorative facility in many parts of the country.
While some streetlights have remained non-functional for a long period of time, others come on and immediately go off, posing a threat to the safety of drivers, riders, pedestrians and other people.
A 52-year-old man has been reported missing from West Garfield Park on the West Side.
Dwayne Palmer was last seen about 6:30 a.m. Sunday in the 4500 block of West Jackson Boulevard, according to a missing person alert from Chicago police.
Palmer, who may appear confused or disoriented, is 5-foot-6, 240 pounds, with brown eyes, gray hair, and has a medium-brown complexion, police said.
