Sylvain Bruneau, the coach of Canadian tennis star Bianca Andreescu, said Saturday that he tested positive for COVID-19 after arriving in Melbourne ahead of the Australian Open.
In a four-paragraph statement, Bruneau said he followed all safety protocols and procedures, tested negative within 72 hours of departure, and felt perfectly fine when boarding the plane in Abu Dhabi. I am extremely saddened and sorry for the consequences now on everyoneâs shoulders sharing my flight, he said. The rest of my team is negative and I sincerely hope that any further disruption is kept to a minimum.
Taekwondo Canada coaching programme given final approval from association Saturday, 19 December 2020
A competition development performance coach programme devised by Taekwondo Canada has received final approval from a key association in the country.
Taekwondo Canada said the National Coaching Certification Programme (NCCP) had been formally recognised by the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC).
The national governing body said the recognition is comprehensive in its scope and outlines a pathway for success as the organisation moves through the next Olympic cycle encompassing both Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 .
The programme has been developed for taekwondo coaches in conjunction with the CAC.
It forms part of the national coaching certification programme, which Taekwondo Canada said provides coaches at all levels with standardised, inclusive, and safe sport education across the country.
