Kolkata: The detective department on Monday submitted a chargesheet against BJP leader Rakesh Singh in the cocaine case involving the party’s youth leader Pamela Goswami. While naming Singh as key conspirator in the case, Goswami’s name has been dropped because police believe she was framed.
Singh has tested Covid-positive and is admitted to Sambhunath Pandit hospital. Calcutta High Court on Monday ordered his transfer to the Covid ward of SSKM Hospital, rejecting his son’s plea that he be shifted to a private hospital for treatment.
Goswami had been arrested in February after 100gm of cocaine was found in the car she was travelling in. She had accused Singh of framing her, leading to police investigating him and then arresting him from Galsi in Burdwan.
