Millions without power in Texas after historic snowstorm

More than 2.5 million homes and businesses throughout Texas are currently without power after a historic winter storm dropped several inches of snow on the state.
According to PowerOutage.us, about 2.6 million customers in Texas are currently without power in nearly every part of the state.
Scripps station KXXV in Waco, Texas reports that the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has declared a level 3 alert â the councilâs highest possible emergency level â and has instructed utility companies across the state to rotate power outages to conserve energy.

A group of friends in Lubbock wanted to enjoy the fresh snowfall on Jan. 10, but ran into a couple bumps along the way, namely that they didn t have proper hills or a sled.
So the friends got creative.
With a beer in his hand, Conor O Neill went sledding using an old mattress tied to a truck as his friends drove around the neighborhood. Conor thought it would be funny to do it shirtless while chugging a PBR, Lubbock resident Megan Schroeter told Storyful. It was hilarious and definitely a great way to start 2021.
