Military Humvee Stolen From National Guard Armory in Bell Has Been Recovered

NBC Universal, Inc. A military Humvee that was stolen from the National Guard Armory in Bell has been recovered. No arrests were reported. Authorities said they re still searching for the person who took the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered early Wednesday morning under an overpass near South Downey Road and Bandini Boulevard in Vernon, Eimiller said. A tip came into the FBI s command center overnight with the exact location of the vehicle and led them right to it, said FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller. The Humvee was recovered less than 5 miles from where it was stolen. The #Humvee stolen from a military facility in Bell was recovered early this morning by the FBI & partners. Freeway Pursuit Shooter Charged in Store Co-Owner s Slaying Has Died

Authorities said Lindsey was the man with a handgun leaning out the passenger side of the Prius firing back at officers during a chase NBC4 covered on Friday. The chase was on the 710 Freeway, then on streets in Commerce and Vernon, as the suspect opened fire at officers and even appeared to shoot at a sheriff s department helicopter. Officers did not return fire during the chase, according to the sheriff s department. The Prius stopped in traffic near Bandini Boulevard and Downey Road, where the passenger again began firing at officers, who returned fire, shattering windows on the car. Bullets struck two Downey police vehicles and another person who suffered a graze wound.
