Like many others during the last few months, I’ve been constructing masks from scraps of fabric squirreled away for years. People who sew choose textiles carefully with an eye to fiber content (easy to wash and dry) and pattern (bold or subtle) and hate to throw away any piece that might have a later use. Unfortunately, the current need for two-layer face masks has called up an in-your-face need (pun intended).
From internet sources I’ve settled on three basic patterns that can be made to fit any face. As they say, you learn something new every day. Well, yes, about mask construction but also about mask-making materials.
