For those harness racing devotees that aren t quite satisfied with just wings, cold beer, pretzels and chips, Pompano Park will host a special racing program on Sunday night (February 7).
Director of Racing Gabe Prewitt explained, We have had many requests to race on Super Bowl night and, since we always want to please the devoted members of the
Send-It-In Army, we, of course, said yes.
The nine race program features a Pick-4 guaranteed pool of $20,000, as well as a Super Hi-5 finale bursting at the seams with a carryover of $67,056.67
That event has a well matched field of nine with combined earnings of close to $2 million headlined by the $724,605 winner Rock On Moe. The 13-year-old warrior is approaching 50 lifetime wins. Trainer Dan Daley is expected to be in his sulky.
With the Super Hi-5 Jackpot approaching $115,000 at Pompano Park, Director of Racing Gabe Prewitt has announced a mandatory payout for Tuesday (Jan. 19). We have had several inquiries as to when the jackpot would grow to a point where we would consider a mandatory payout and that time has come, said Prewitt.
Normally, the jackpot is paid when there is one lone winning ticket with the first five finishers in order, however, with the Super Hi-5 Jackpot pool expected to be several hundred thousand dollars, the mandatory payout lifts that restriction and there is no limit to the number of winning tickets one might have.

Harness racing, at its very core, is a career that follows a routine pattern, but at the same time, follows no routine at all. In other words, the everyday routine of each stable is set through a similar schedule – morning feed, stalls, buckets, watering, jogging or training, bathing, lunch, and dinner.
Now these schedules vary from stable to stable. Everything from how far a horse is jogged to how much they are fed to how many buckets of water each horse has can be different. But, the routine of a single stable changes as anything can happen in the barn. Horses get sick, pop a gravel, get mysterious injuries, and more.
