No polls for Kakinada, Rajahamahendravaram corporations
The elections to the urban local bodies in East Godavari district are set to go down to the wire as the main opposition parties the Telugu Desam Party and the Jana Sena Party have fielded candidates in all eight municipalities and two nagar panchayats.
In Peddapuram municipality, which is a TDP bastion, the TDP has fielded candidates in all 29 wards, thus preventing the rulingYSR Congress Party from claiming unanimous victories from even a single seat.
In Mandapeta municipality, where 30 wards are going to the polls, Gollaprolu nagar panchayat (20 wards) and Yeleswaram nagar panchayats (20 wards), the TDP and JSP have fielded their candidates in all 70 wards, doing away with the possibility of a unanimous win in any of the wards in the three civic bodies.

A tough battle is on the cards in the urban local bodies’ election-2021 in the East Godavari district as the prime Opposition parties - TDP and Jana Sena Party - have fielded their candidates in all the eight municipalities and two Nagar panchayats.
The Corporator was earlier associated with the YSRCP and the TDP.
Kampara Ramesh, Corporator of Ward No. 9 in Kakinada, was knocked down dead by his friend Chinna over some financial disputes in the early hours of Friday.
Ramesh is also the son-in-law of Jana Sena leader Pantham Nanaji. On Thursday, Ramesh invited his friend Chinna to join him in a party at another friend s place at Gangarajunagar. Just when they were about to leave the venue, the duo got engaged in a verbal spat, East Godavari s Superintendent of Police (DSP) Adnan Nayeem Asmi told IANS.
Chinna and Ramesh first got into fisticuffs following an argument in front of Surya car wash centre by the Sarpavaram, beach road in the town at Gangarajunagar junction near Valasapakala.
