Patna police search for woman who offers bikes on rent for crimes

Patna, May 27 : The Patna police have launched a manhunt to nab a woman who offers a bike on rent service to criminals.
The matter came to light after a man was nabbed with a stolen LPG cylinder under the jurisdiction of Patrakar Nagar police station. During investigation, the accused Amar Kumar disclosed that he had taken a bike on rent from a woman named Pushpa Kumari, who is popular as didi among the local criminals, to execute the crime. She charges Rs 300 as rent for a bike per day and also takes a share from the stolen items, said a senior police official of Patrakar Nagar police station.

PATNA: The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of state police seized 17 oxygen cylinders, which were being sold in the range of Rs65,000 to 85,000 on black market to the family members of Covid patients in the city.
The EOU has set up a dedicated control room in Patna to receive round-the-clock complaints on black marketing or hoarding of oxygen cylinders and necessary medicines across the state. With the help of complaints received at the control room with baseline number 0612-2215142, the EOU’s raiding teams have nabbed altogether four persons in the last 24 hours and recovered 17 large oxygen cylinders from their possession.

In a shocking incident, a man allegedly murdered his wife after she tested positive for COVID-19 and then died by suicide in Patna late on Sunday night, police said.
The man, identified as Atul Lal, was a railway employee while his wife was working in a private organisation in the state capital.
