Despite overwhelming input from Indianola teachers who want to maintain the current learning model of early dismissals and flexible remote learning enrollment, the Indianola Community School Board voted 6-1 Thursday night to offer K-5 students the option of full-time on-site learning.
The final vote by the board was 6-1 with school board member Ken Bresnan opposing the motion.
However, the on-site learning format cannot be offered until the district hires a remote special education teacher. The earliest the remote special education teacher could be on board is Jan. 20, Indianola Superintendent Art Sathoff told the board.
