Military family sets sail on a new mission, employing veterans at a new winery they’ve planned for years

The Wall of Honor at Haze Gray Vineyards in Dobson, North Carolina. It is about the faces and stories, says owner Becky Muhlenberg. Each person tells me a bit about the individual. We have photos across many decades.

The president of Greece recently honored Jack Davis and Sharon Stocker with the “Commander of the Order of the Phoenix”, for several archaeological discoveries in Pylos that are actively shaping our understanding of ancient Greece. One of the countries highest awards, it was established in 1926 and recognizes Greek citizens who have excelled in fields such as arts, and science or to foreigners who have helped raise Greece’s international renown.

“Healthcare leadership is more than a profession, it’s a calling.” It’s a simple but profound statement that kicked off the 2021 ACHE Congress on Healthcare Leadership. As a healthcare leader and educator of color, I feel called in this moment to respond to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Office of Minority Health’s request that individuals and communities share the reasons why they are #VaccineReady, the theme for this year’s National Minority Health Month.

It was a lucky day for the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program when Ellen Garshick joined the staff in 2007.
From her interviews, staff members saw that she was exceptionally talented. The long list of clients of her previous editorial work included prestigious organizations, and her publication samples demonstrated masterful skills. What also deeply impressed everyone from the start were her interpersonal skills. Such a mix of editorial expertise and social intelligence would have made her an asset for publications work in any organization. At BPEP, we recognized she would be an ideal fit for our collaborative work environment rooted in a structure of self-managed teams.
