Child and Family Services of Northwestern Michigan is kicking off their 32nd annual Brown Bag Campaign.
Each year, they collect money to purchase bags filled with items to help children entering foster care acclimate to their new surroundings, as well as pay for counseling and club and camp opportunities.
Throughout July, local newspapers will put donation slips in their publications.
Oleson’s Food Market and Oryana will also have options to donate from their locations.
Child and Family Services says they’ve seen huge impacts on the children in their care due to these funds.
“Cumulatively we’ve raised over $550,000 through this campaign, and it makes all the difference in making sure that kids in our foster care system get the needs that they need to help them start healing,” said –.
