Police charge two over break and enters near Wollongong
Two men have been charged over an alleged break and enter at a home in Farmborough Heights earlier this week.
About 2.30am on Sunday 4 April 2021, a home on Lyrebird Way was broken into and a number of power tools stolen.
A short time later, five motor vehicles were reportedly broken into on Lochview Avenue.
Police were notified and officers from Lake Illawarra Police District commenced inquiries.
Following inquiries, a search warrant was executed at a home on Stanley Avenue, Farmborough Heights, about 10.30am on Wednesday 7 April 2021.
A 27-year-old man was arrested a short distance away. He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company, and larceny.
With an intense focus on tracking down and bringing persons who are wanted by the law in the parish to justice, the St James police have listed a number of such individuals, who are being asked to turn themselves in, this while members of the public are being asked to provide information, where applicable, on the whereabouts of the suspected felons.
Only on Monday of this week, the police in the parish reaped success with the capture of a person who was wanted for murder. The development stemmed from the February 5 killing of Marvin Holness at about 9:30 pm.
Holness was reportedly fatally shot by a man known as Fabian Morris, otherwise called ‘Killy Killy’.
Cllr. Kerry Thomas
St James Parish Councillor, Kerry Thomas, has earned the ire of Regional Operations Manager at WPM Waste Management, Garnet Edmondson, who is demanding an apology from Thomas for “false accusations”.
There’s a history of Thomas complaining about the service of the NSWMA in his Mount Salem Division and at last December’s council meeting, he made remarks which have not gone down well with Edmondson, triggering a tersely worded letter which was read on his behalf at last week’s meeting.
Thomas was absent from the meeting when the letter was being read, so it was not debated, but his colleague, Councillor Charles Sinclair, noted that it was a damning report, to which Councillor Michael Troupe cynically said, “Impeach him.”
