Bhandara (Maharashtra) [India], January 10 (ANI): In the wake of the tragedy which claimed the lives of 10 children in a hospital fire in Bhandara district, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday said that the investigation of the incident will determine if there was any negligence.
NEW DELHI Ten newborn infants died on Saturday in a fire at a state-run hospital in western India, officials said.
There were 17 infants in the unit for sick newborn babies when the fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday at the Bhandara District General Hospital in Maharashtra state.

Ten newborns were killed in the early hours of Saturday in a massive fire at a hospital in Maharashtra’s Bhandara district.
“The fire broke out at 2 am today,” said Pramod Khandate, civil surgeon at
Bhandara District General Hospital. Seven of the 17 children in the sick newborn care unit were rescued, Khandate said.
The deceased infants – eight girls and two boys – were aged between one month and three months, hospital sources said.
