Subscriber only A woman has received a large fine after she crashed her car with a mid-range alcohol reading and left the scene before emergency crews even arrived to help. Chu-Yin Chen pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Thursday to one charge of driving over the middle alcohol limit. The court heard emergency crews were called to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection Moore Park Rd and Blackbutt St on October 10 last year. However, when crews arrived Chen, who was the driver, was nowhere to be found. The court heard she had left the scene in a friend s car before crews got to the scene.

The court heard police were doing patrols near the intersection of the Bundaberg Ring Rd and Goodwood Rd on January 3. At 7.55pm they saw a white Holden commodore produce a large amount of smoke and could hear loud screeching. Collins, who was the driver, was pulled over by police where he was given a notice to appear.
