CACI promotes exec to CTO -- Washington Technology

By Ross Wilkers Apr 12, 2021 CACI International has promoted Glenn Kurowski to chief technology officer, where he will be responsible for work to advance new technologies to customers. Kurowski will also oversee technology investments and work to both build and develop CACI’s technical workforce, the company said Monday. He joined CACI in 2014 and has since worked across the company’s business lines on solution development, intellectual property and product offerings. Q&Q bids farewell to review editor Steven Beattie

Steven Beattie, Quill & Quire’s review editor, will be leaving the magazine on Feb. 26. For nearly 13 years Steven has guided thousands of book reviews with his keen intellect and broad knowledge of both Canadian literature and the industry behind it. He has added dozens of new reviewers to our roster of contributors, expanding the perspectives of the magazine’s work. He championed independent presses and their authors, looked for the overlooked, and made sure there was an opportunity for the broadest cross-section of authors and their publishers to be represented in the pages of  Quill & Quire. He ensured the elevated discussion of our national literature. Steven will be moving on to work on personal projects.

Lumen, Hawkeye 360 add government vets to leadership ranks -- Washington Technology

By Ross Wilkers Feb 17, 2021 Two companies in the government market have each added veteran federal services executives to their ranks through appointments announced Tuesday. Lumen Technologies, the company formerly known as CenturyLink, has brought on board Energy Department and White House budget office veteran Nick Andersen as chief information security officer for the public sector. He will be responsible for ensuring Lumen’s cybersecurity and IT products are compliant with federal security and risk management requirements. Andersen was most recently principal deputy assistant secretary in DOE’s office of cybersecurity, energy security and emergency response. That role included responsibility for leading nationwide efforts to secure the U.S.’ energy infrastructure against hazards and other impacts both digital and physical.
