“We hope to sign it next week. With deputized resident ombudsmen in place, the TFAC (Task Force Against Corruption) can take more effective action. Although not highly publicized, the task force has been building up a lot of corruption cases reported to us,” Jutice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said in a statement Tuesday. Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the agreement that would authorize the deployment of prosecutors and state auditors to government agencies prone to corruption will be signed next week. The agreement will be signed by representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Commission on Audit (COA), and the Office of the Ombudsman.
