Liam Tunney: How did you first get into politics?
Patsy McGlone: I had a conversation with two people in the Ballymaguigan/Newbridge area. The first was Henry Walls, or Big Henry as he was called in Ballymaguigan, and Roddy Gribbin.
Funding finally announced for Lough Neagh fishing industry

A £360,000 Covid support scheme has been announced to support the Lough Neagh fishing industry.
The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) have said they will contact any fishermen entitled to the payment, set aside for those affected by market losses due to the pandemic.
In order to qualify for the support, applicants must have at least £5,000 per annum of landings in any year between 2017 and 2019, and must have held a DAERA fishing licence in one or more of the same years.

AN organisation which represents council chief executives has confirmed that a letter sent to the British Cabinet Office was written by Anne Donaghy in her role as Mid and East Antrim council chief.
It comes days after Ms Donaghy told a Stormont committee that she wrote the letter in her role as a national senior representative of Solace .
Solace is the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and acts as a professional voice for local government.

A COUNCIL chief is facing calls to reconsider her position after it emerged DUP MPs advised her to write to the Cabinet Office to voice concerns about the Northern Ireland Protocol.
Mid and East Antrim Council chief executive Anne Donaghy said she was advised to write the letter by Sammy Wilson, Ian Paisley and Jeffrey Donaldson earlier this year.
Details of the confidential correspondence emerged as Ms Donaghy and the council s DUP mayor Peter Johnston gave evidence to Stormont s Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs committee on Thursday.
