(Latvian Public Broadcasting) The traditional Latvian Film Marathon of the National Film Centre (NKC) on May 4 will take place online on the filmas.lv portal for the second year, NKC said April 20. A special screening of films will be held throughout the day, and it will begin at 11:00 local time of each country where it is streamed, following time zones around the globe. Due to the constraints of the emergency, the May 4 Latvian Film Marathon was organized on the filmas.lv portal a year ago in cooperation with the Culture Systems Information Centre (KISC) as an online program, with nearly 9,000 people viewing it at various times, not only in Latvia but in a total of 63 countries from New Zealand to the US West Coast.
