Rashpal of the Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences, Jalandhar, decanted the oxygen in Hoshiarpur, so it could be supplied to two hospitals in Amritsar
JALANDHAR: Past-midnight desperate efforts of three districts and their coordination with the oxygen control room in Chandigarh saved lives in two Amritsar hospitals. The gas reached them early Wednesday.
Alerted about the shortage, Amritsar additional deputy commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal rang up Hoshiarpur administration on the instructions of the Chandigarh control room on Tuesday night for help. The absence of a technical expert who could perform decanting from tank to tanker (reverse operation) posed a challenge in oxygen supply to Amritsar. The request then went to Jalandhar ADC (development) Vishesh Sarangal.
