UP Governor Anandiben Patel inaugurating ‘Atulya Ganga Parikrama’ from Rajbhawan , Lucknow on Tuesday
PRAYAGRAJ: State governor Anandiben Patel on Tuesday inaugurated the “Atulya Ganga Parikrama Online” from Rajbhawan, Lucknow, and sought active public participation to keep Ganga aviral (perennial) and nirmal (immaculate). She said the 5,100-kilometre parikrama\padayatra starting from Prayagraj would cover 45 cities, 5,000 villages, forests, mountains and glaciers. The governor added that the Ganga river is the identity of our country’s culture and precious legacy. “Maa Ganga also leaves an impact on our country’s culture, climate, economics and spirituality,” she said.
She said that the country’s longest parikrama\padyatra would rejuvenate the movement for river and environment conservation. She claimed that people would be inclined towards Ganga conservation and will also help to create mass awareness for the river environment and bio-diversity. Governor Anandi

Prayagraj : , Dec 15 (IANS) Veterans from the armed forces will come together with government, non-government and individual organisations to hold a padyatra for revival and rejuvenation of the Ganga river.
The padyatra called the Atulya Ganga yatra, from Prayagraj will be held from December 16 and will be inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Union Ministers for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Culture and Tourism Prahlad Patel through video conferencing.
The 5,100-kilometre yatra will cover 45 cities, 5,000 villages, forests, mountains and glaciers.
