V2Foods unveiled its plant-based patty in 2019 at Australian chain Hungry Jack’s a franchise brand of the Burger King Corporation. The patty was created in partnership with Australia’s national science agency CSIRO, Main Sequence Ventures, and Hungry Jack’s founder Jack Cowin who invested $1 million to develop the beef alternative. In addition to locations in South Korea, v2Foods’ patties are also available at Burger King locations in Japan and the Philippines.
