Newark Museum of Art is donating 10K masks, will display most creative designs
Updated Dec 12, 2020;
The Newark Museum of Art is asking residents to get in touch with their inner artist by creating their own design on masks it is distributing to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.
The museum will distribute 10,000 free masks on Monday to Newark residents across all five wards. Residents are asked to take a photo of their mask design and submit it to the museum on Instagram using the hashtags #MaskUpNewark and #NewarkMuseumMask.
The museum will feature the designs on social media and a few photo submissions may even be wind up on display at the museum when it reopens to visitors again. The museum pushed back its reopening date and is scheduled to open its doors again in early 2021.
