Opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Thursday termed the proposed national budget for 2021-22 fiscal as a budget of borrowers, saying that it would increase foreign debt.
Giving an instant reaction to the proposed national budget placed before the Parliament by finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal for 2020-2021 fiscal year, BNP standing committee member and former planning minister Abdul Moyeen Khan said that ruling Awami League gave a budget to the nation in the year of golden jubilee of the independence which, he said, a budget of borrowers.
‘The proposed budget was made with 35.56 per cent deficiency. That meant the deficiency will be addressed by loans from the internal and external sources,’ Moyeen said.
