Chinese Ambassador Li Jiming formally handed over the doses to Health Minister Zahid Maleque and Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen at an event at the state guesthouse Padma in Dhaka.

The government will run the second dose of coronavirus vaccination with Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine until the stock remains as there is a shortage of 17-18 lakh doses to complete the vaccination with the same jab.
“We will run the second dose vaccination with the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine until the stock lasts,” Prof Dr ABM Khurshid Alam, Director General of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) told the Daily Sun on Tuesday.
Mentioning that the government is already trying to collect the Oxford-AsatraZeneca vaccine from different countries including the US, UK, Denmark and Australia to fill up the shortage of the vaccine, he expressed hope that they will get the vaccine soon.

A special aircraft of BAF equipped with 500,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine and AD syringes landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5am.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen will formally receive the Chinese vaccines and AD syringes at the State Guesthouse Padma at 11:30am.
Thirteen aircrew of Bangladesh Air Force led by Wing Commander Md Habibur Rahman left Dhaka for China Tuesday morning by BAF C-130J aircraft for the purpose.
Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat imparted necessary guidance to the team.

The Sinopharm vaccine is produced by Beijing Bio-Institute of Biological Products Co Ltd, a subsidiary of China National Biotec Group (CNBG).
