View Comments A year into their investigation, the Buckeye Police Department has narrowed their search for the vehicle that hit and killed 16-year-old Anaiah Walker.  Police found Walker s body in the median of Interstate 10 near Watson Road on May 22, 2020, according to department spokeswoman Donna Rossi. Walker had been listed as a missing or runaway juvenile by the Mesa Police Department since December 2019. It took police 12 days to identify her body.  The medical examiner ruled Walker’s cause of death to be “high-velocity impact, and Rossi announced Thursday that extensive forensic examinations helped detectives narrow the vehicle believed to have hit her before fleeing the scene.

Police sergeant injured by suspected drunk driver collision in Buckeye

Updated: 12:30 PM MST May 2, 2021 BUCKEYE, Ariz. A Buckeye Police sergeant is recovering at his home after being T-boned by a suspected drunk driver Saturday night, the Buckeye Police Department said. The sergeant was driving through the intersection of North 4th Street and East Arizona Eastern Avenue when another vehicle struck the patrol vehicle on the driver s side, police said. The impact forced both vehicles into the corner of a building at the intersection. The sergeant, the other driver, and a passenger in the car of the other driver were all transported to a local hospital, the department said. The sergeant was treated, released, and is now recovering from his injuries at home.

Man arrested in Buckeye for eastside shooting that left one dead Unmute TUCSON (KVOA) - A 35-year-old man has died after sustaining a gunshot wound during a verbal altercation at an eastside apartment complex Thursday morning. The shooting victim was identified as 35-year-old Chad Aaron Hill. Tucson Police Department said Hill and a man, later identified as 37-year-old Antonio Ulysses Collins, reportedly got in to a heated argument at an apartment complex on 6775 E. Golf Links Rd. near Kolb Road. Police said a Hill was shot shortly after the argument. At around 3:20 a.m. officers from Operations Division East were sent to the apartment complex in reports of a shooting. Police found Hill with life threatening injuries at the scene.
