According to a press release, Trooper Charles Barnette was conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 35 west at James H. McGee Boulevard with a 2009 BMW when a 2013 Toyota Corolla hit the BMW which pushed into and injured the trooper. Officials said occupants in the BMW were not injured in the crash.
