(Omaha, NE) Omaha Police say a reported arson at the Nebraska Chinese Association was not motivated by hate.
The initial police report was filed by Tribe Church Omaha on February 25th. The NCA lends part of its building to the church, which hosts a bible study on Friday nights. The police report stated that a “molotov cocktail” was thrown at the church, landing on concrete stairs that lead from the sidewalk to the NCA property, located near 81st and Blondo streets.
Police arrested 19 year old Konner Rasmussen in connection with the incident, but said that he wasn’t targeting the NCA site. Rasmussen was booked in jail earlier this week on possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, trespassing and destruction of an explosive device.
