Several parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will continue to experience rains in the next few days due to the prevalence of the southwest monsoon, locally known as “habagat,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
PAGASA on Tuesday, Aug. 3, said monsoon rains may affect Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan in the next 24 hours.
The State weather bureau warned against possible flash floods or landslides during scattered to widespread moderate to at times heavy rains.
Occasional monsoon rains may also affect Metro Manila, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Occidental Mindoro, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, the rest of Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya.
