The NPA took a decision on Thursday not to prosecute all three dockets related to the arrest of students at Wits University because of insufficient evidence.
On the recent consolidation in the market
We have had a phenomenal rally in the markets over the last one year. The index has almost doubled from the lows of last March. Obviously, after such a phenomenal rally, it is very fair for the market just to pause to catch a breath. Obviously there will be a round of profit taking which investors might want to invest in.
There are certain clouds in terms of rising crude oil prices and some concerns on rising rates in the US but I do not think that any of those has a significant influence on India’s long-term growth story. Markets might pause to catch their breath and we might be in for a consolidation or a minor pullback. But beyond that, the bull market remains pretty much alive.

+ March 09, 2021 A GUERILLA couple and four other suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered to the police in Eastern Visayas towns Monday, March 8, 2021.
Colonel Arnel Apud, director of Northern Samar Police Provincial Office (NSPPO), welcomed the returning couple identified as alias Alas and alias Sam, both members of sub-regional committee (SRC) Emporium.
“Our government is serious in its campaign to end the insurgency. Since you decided to surrender and return to the folds of the law, we will help you to avail of the benefits offered by our government once the needed documents are processed,” Apud told the couple during their meeting at the police provincial headquarters.
State-owned banks, with their limited capital buffers, will be more vulnerable to the impact of the pandemic than private-sector peers, and the government s plan to pump $5.5 billion into these lenders over fiscal 2021 and 2022 is unlikely to be enough, Fitch said.

The case against the 17-year-old who was arrested in connection with the alleged murder of Mapula “Meiki” Khune has been struck from the roll, the North West prosecuting authority said on Monday.
Mapula is the sister of Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.
NPA North West spokesperson Henry Mamothame said the matter would not be enrolled, due to insufficient evidence.
“Following a thorough study of the docket and consultation with the police, the NPA resolved that the docket be returned to the police for further investigations and the accused to be released,” Mamothame said.
